CREATIVE PROCESS

1. Concept Phase

The creative process begins with research and exploration. Based on the completed questionnaire and Pinterest inspiration boards, I develop initial ideas through paper and digital sketches. This phase focuses on composition, atmosphere, narrative, and layout, while already considering format, medium, and use. A first indication of the colour palette and overall visual direction is established during this stage.

2. Development Phase

Once the visual direction is approved, the illustrations are further developed in colour and detail. Depending on the chosen style, depth, texture, and refinement are added to strengthen the visual language. During this phase, the illustrations are presented in mock-ups to clearly show how they will function in context, such as packaging, print, or digital applications.

3. Finalisation Phase

In the final phase, the illustrations are carefully refined and prepared for their intended use. Details are polished, colours optimised, and consistency across the full set of visuals is ensured. Final mock-ups are used to review the end result before delivery.

4. Review Moments

The creative process includes up to three review rounds, each linked to a specific phase. Feedback is collected and communicated clearly to keep the process focused and efficient. This structure allows for thoughtful refinement while maintaining clarity and momentum throughout the project.

CLIENT PROCESS

1. Discovery Call

We start with a free discovery call of approximately 30 minutes. During this conversation, we discuss the idea behind the project, its context, intended applications, timing, and an initial budget indication. This call helps align expectations and determine whether the collaboration feels right on both sides.

2. Proposal & Quotation

After the call, you receive a clear proposal outlining the project scope, working method, timeline, usage and licensing terms, and pricing. The quotation is prepared via Creative Shelter and forms the basis of our collaboration. Once approved, the project is officially confirmed.

3. Confirmation & Deposit

To initiate the project, a 40% deposit of the total fee is invoiced. Once the deposit is received and the briefing materials (questionnaire and Pinterest inspiration boards) are completed, the project is scheduled and the creative phase begins.

4. Creative Phase

Based on the briefing, I begin the illustration process. The work unfolds in structured phases: concept, development, and finalisation. Each phase builds toward a clear and cohesive visual direction that supports both the content and the intended application.

5. Review Moments

The project includes up to three review rounds, each linked to a specific phase of the process. Feedback is ideally bundled and communicated clearly to keep the process focused and efficient. Additional review rounds can be arranged and are billed at an hourly rate.

6. Finalisation & Delivery

After the final feedback is implemented, the illustrations are carefully finalised and prepared for use. All final files are delivered in an organised and application-ready format. The final invoice is issued, and usage rights become effective upon full payment. Expect a follow-up from me a couple of months later to check on your progress.
